Halloween weekend.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! I literally had the BUSIEST Halloween weekend this year! Even though it knackered me out, I really enjoyed it and it made me realised how lucky I am that I've been able to do what I'm doing and how much help all of my family & friends have given me since starting Coco's Camera. On Saturday, I had a family shoot for the lovely Sarah & her family. I've come to realise the more family shoots I do, the more confident I become telling people how to stand, where to look etc. Practice makes perfect, as they say! Then on Saturday, I photographed Yolanda’s 25th birthday party. Normally on the Saturday before Halloween, I’d be dressed up as something scary, ready to go to a p

As Donna Summer once said "she works hard for the money".

I hate talking about money. Hate hate hate it. But unfortunately it has to be done if I want to one day become a full time, self employed professional photographer. Pricing is really hard to figure out, I think. Maybe it’s because I’m a photographer myself, but I would expect to pay between £1,000-£2,000 for a wedding photographer (one of my favourite photographers charges £2,500). Their prices reflect their work, experience and testimonies. I know I’m nowhere near their level of talent and wouldn’t ever dream of being able to charge that much for my work. However, when I first started I set my prices as low as I could possibly go, as well as putting an offer on, to help me gain clients and

Last week, I shot my first wedding for a couple I had never met before. It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again! Nicola & George got married at Lenwade House in Norwich, in an intimate, autumnal ceremony with just 28 guests (including myself!). After a morning of photographing Nicola and her bridesmaids getting ready at her parents house, I came to the quick conclusion that Nicola was probably the most relaxed, chilled out bride to be I had ever seen! See proof below... The day was full of love, laughter and relaxing conversation. Couldn't have asked for a better first wedding for a couple I didn't know!

Now hear me out...

I’m not normally one for an inspirational quote(s). But since I’m hoping that one day (hopefully soonish) I’ll be running my own photography business and being a full time, self employed photographer, I’ve really had to dig deep for motivation. And not because I don’t want to do it. I love shooting, I love editing and I love giving my clients there images back. Motivation to keep going is a must when you want to be self employed though, isn’t it? To keep going when you put special offers on, discounts and write Facebook status after Facebook status and still get no clients. Especially when you’re still having to work a 9-5, Monday - Friday job and are tired from it. This is what I have strug
