Who is Coco's Camera?

A big hello to whoever it is sitting behind the screen reading my first ever blog post. Thanks for taking time out of your own schedule to humour me and read this blog and (hopefully) check out my work.

I suppose I should tell you a bit about me...

I'm Chloe and I'm 23. I live in Norfolk with my wonderful fiance, his equally wonderful family & our more than wonderful dogs; Caesar, Cleo, Bruce & Baxter. Yes, we have four dogs. And yes, it is madness. But we wouldn't have it any other way.

When I decided to start up this whole photography thing, I really struggled as to what to call my photography page. I felt like my name wasn't exactly something that rolls off the tongue nicely "Chloe Amanda Ingram Photography" and so I started to think of other options beside my full name. The name Coco comes from my little sisters, Esther & Florence. When they were younger they either couldn't, or didn't want, to call me Chloe, so Coco it was. And it's stuck that I feel like it's part of me enough to use as my photography name, but a little more unique than Chloe (no offence fellow Chloe's!).

I graduated from Southampton Solent University last year (2016) with a degree in Photojournalism and a firm belief that I never wanted to pick up a camera again. In all honesty, I think that was just the consequence of three years of soul sucking, painful university lectures. And I mean that with love. University was the best three years ever. You learn so much! Example: did you know you can put white socks in with red tops and if you use 463632 colour catchers, the socks stay relatively white?

Unfortunatley I did also learn that photojournalism wasn't the type of photography I could spend my life doing. I didn't want to chase celebs and be hated for being a 'pap'. And nor did I want to take photos for the local newspaper because I knew that if I wasn't interested in the stories myself, it would reflect in my pictures. So, I'm going to let you into a little secret (that isn't so secret anymore)... I LOVE WEDDINGS & BABIES & EVERYTHING THAT GIVES YOU THAT WARM TINGLY FEELING IN YOUR BELLY.

I know. I don't know what happened. I went away to university hating the thought of rom-coms, declarations of love and small, newly born humans that need you to do everything for them. And I came back a new woman. One who wanted to photograph people in love agreeing to spend the rest of their lives together, giddy with excitement and wonder at how they were going to spend the next 70 years. I wanted to take photos upon photos of small, delicate, babies that were a perfect combination of both their parents and cuddle them in between shots.

So, Coco's Camera was born and the photographic journey has began.
